I am a mom, wife, fashion designer, self-help junkie with high functioning anxiety.

A brief introduction to my world:

Mom:  I have a soon to be 15 year old son which I won't talk to much about him since he really likes his privacy!  The basics are that he is a great kid, and I love him dearly ~ even though we butt heads frequently.

Wife:  I am married to Neal Armstrong (yes that is right,  he kind of has a famous name just spelt incorrectly!).  He is my biggest supporter and I am pretty sure I drive him bonkers many days when I "go down the rabbit hole" but he is pretty good at reminding me when enough is enough.

Fashion Designer:  I have a degree in fashion design from Ryserson.  I have worked in the industry for over 20 years.

If you have ever seen "The devil wears Prada" most of my career has been spent working for various versions of "Miranda" except in a MUCH less glamorous setting.  Once upon a time I had a book thrown at my head by one boss because I didn't "read her mind" (luckily she missed!).

However I always had amazing co-workers and staff!

Self-help Junkie:  I have been reading self help books and psychology books since grade 7-8....somewhere in my teen years I became obsessed with why people behave the way the do.  In a way I was using them as a guide on how to be "perfect"...but now I realize there is no perfect and use them to boost my motivation/mood etc.  I will share with you some of my favourites here for you.

High Functioning Anxiety:  The past 2 years put my anxiety into over drive.  had always been a "worry wart" and extremely driven to succeed, but something had shifted - I started to find I would freeze, not sure what to do so I just did nothing.

I was diagnosed with OCPD (obsessive personality disorder) and GAD (generalized anxiety disorder) I will get more into this later but I do cognitive therapy and recently started taking Wellbutrin - the combination has helped tremendously.  I work hard to find balance and find my boundaries.

Why am I telling you this?

A few reasons:

1st: I hope if you have similar qualities to me it helps to know there is someone out there like you.

2nd:  If your not like me my obsessive nature actually will benefit you!  I research many subjects obsessively and will share my knowledge with you.

3rd:  When you purchase items from my brand I want you to know that my personality drives me to search for solutions to pilling, muffin tops, what fabric is most eco-friendly, how to get the perfect thread tension, making household habit more sustainable, and the list goes on and on...This allows me to deliver you the best product possible.

I tend to “go down the rabbit hole” ~ I use this expression frequently to describe my natural drive towards obsessive research.  I "go down rabbit holes" about many things….and revisit them fairly often…as things are constantly pivoting and shifting.

Through this blog I intend to share with you many of my obsessively researched topics, along with some personal experiences that I hope you will enjoy.
